A neglected boy puzzles police superintendent Elisabeth "Bessie" Eyckhoff (Verena Altenberger) and her colleagues Cem (Cem Lukas Yeginer) and Maurer (Andreas Bittl). They don't know where he comes from. Various wounds and calluses on his buttocks point to mistreatment and a life in prison. As the boy (Dennis Doms), who calls himself Polou, hardly speaks, Bessie and her colleagues have to use unconventional methods to shed light on the mystery and convict Polou's tormentors. Polou is hypnotized. They soon realize that other children are in great danger. The investigation takes a dramatic turn when a mysterious woman appears at the hospital during the course of the investigation and tries to kill Polou. (ARD)
